A beautiful somerset wedding
My first wedding of 2025 was a memorable one, celebrating Natasha and John’s beautiful spring wedding at Crowcombe Court in Somerset.
As a Somerset wedding photographer, Crowcombe Court is a venue I always enjoy returning to. This Grade I listed mansion, set within the Quantock Hills, has everything that makes a wedding venue special: beautiful Georgian architecture, elegant rooms, grand staircases and stunning grounds that provide the perfect backdrop for natural, storytelling photography.
But while the venue creates an incredible setting, it is always the people and the moments that make a wedding truly unique.
A Relaxed Morning at Crowcombe Court
Natasha began the morning getting ready in one of Crowcombe Court’s spacious bridal suites, with beautiful natural light coming through the tall Georgian windows. There is something special about those quieter moments before a wedding begins, the excitement, the nerves, the laughter with friends and family, and the anticipation of what is about to happen.
John was getting ready nearby, preparing for the day ahead and looking forward to seeing Natasha walk down the aisle.
My approach to wedding photography is relaxed and documentary-focused. I want couples to enjoy every part of their wedding day rather than feeling like they are constantly being pulled away for photographs. The best images often happen naturally, in the moments between the planned parts of the day.
A Beautiful Ceremony in the Great Hall
The Great Hall at Crowcombe Court provided a stunning setting for Natasha and John’s ceremony. Surrounded by the character and history of this incredible building, they exchanged their vows in front of their closest family and friends.
From the anticipation before the ceremony to the emotions during the vows, these are the moments that make wedding photography so special. Capturing the reactions, the smiles and the little interactions between guests allows the photographs to tell the full story of the day.
Spring Portraits Around Crowcombe Court
After the ceremony, we took some time to explore the grounds at Crowcombe Court. Even in early spring, the gardens and surrounding countryside created a beautiful backdrop for relaxed portraits and candid photographs.
Rather than spending hours away from their guests, Natasha and John enjoyed some time together while I captured natural moments between them, along with the celebrations happening around them.
The confetti, champagne, laughter and conversations with friends and family all became part of the story.
An Evening of Celebration
As the day moved into the evening, Crowcombe Court’s Ballroom came alive with celebrations. Speeches, laughter and the excitement of the first dance set the tone for a brilliant evening surrounded by family and friends.
The timeless elegance of Crowcombe Court combined perfectly with the atmosphere of Natasha and John’s wedding, creating photographs that capture not just how the day looked, but how it felt.
