Hestercombe Gardens

Wedding Photography

Glorious relaxed afternoon in Taunton

I had the pleasure of photographing Silvia and Alex’s wedding at Hestercombe Gardens, capturing their intimate ceremony and drinks reception surrounded by one of Somerset’s most beautiful historic landscapes.

Set within the Quantock Hills, Hestercombe Gardens offers a unique blend of stunning gardens, historic architecture and peaceful countryside views. It is a wonderful setting for couples looking for a wedding venue that feels elegant yet relaxed, with plenty of opportunities for natural and storytelling photography.

Silvia and Alex’s wedding was a perfect reflection of that. The day was filled with laughter, family, friends and plenty of moments that showed exactly what weddings are about, celebrating the people closest to you.

An Intimate Ceremony at Hestercombe Gardens

The ceremony took place surrounded by the beautiful gardens and architecture of Hestercombe. With their closest family and friends gathered together, Silvia and Alex exchanged their vows in a setting that felt personal, relaxed and full of emotion.

One of the things I love about smaller weddings is the atmosphere. Every guest has a connection to the couple, and those relationships create so many genuine moments to capture, from emotional reactions during the ceremony to the laughter shared afterwards.

A Relaxed Drinks Reception Full of Fun

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a relaxed drinks reception around the gardens, making the most of the beautiful surroundings and dry skies that stayed with us throughout the day.

There was a brilliant atmosphere as friends and family caught up, enjoyed creative cocktails and joined in with fun wedding games that brought everyone together.

These are the moments I love documenting most: the conversations, the laughter, the children running around, and the little interactions that couples might not even notice happening on the day.

Natural Wedding Photography at Hestercombe Gardens

My approach is relaxed, natural and documentary-focused. I want couples and their guests to enjoy the day without feeling like they are constantly performing for the camera.

For Silvia and Alex, this meant capturing a mixture of natural moments, family photographs and some beautiful portraits together around the gardens.

A particular highlight was taking the drone up for a dramatic group photograph, creating a unique image that included all the loved ones who had come together to celebrate with them.

A Beautiful Somerset Garden Wedding

From candid laughter to meaningful family moments, Silvia and Alex’s Hestercombe Gardens wedding was a wonderful mix of elegance and relaxed fun.

The venue provided the perfect backdrop, but it was the people, the connections and the atmosphere that made the day truly special.
