Paige & PJ’s Wedding at Webbington Hotel & Spa, Mendips

Webbington Hotel & Spa

Paige and PJ’s wedding on 30th January marked my first wedding of the year, and what a way to start. Set at the Webbington Hotel & Spa in the Mendips, their day had everything I love about winter weddings, a relaxed atmosphere, emotional moments, and a couple who were completely themselves from start to finish.

Despite a cloudy start, the light played its part perfectly when it mattered most, breaking just in time for some incredible couple portraits overlooking the Mendips.

A Beautiful Start to the Year

A Calm, Thoughtful Morning

The day began with a calm and well-organised morning, exactly how you want things to feel before everything kicks off. Paige was naturally a little nervous, but having time to go over the plan together helped settle everything into place.

That’s always something I prioritise, making sure the day flows properly, so you can actually enjoy it rather than feel rushed.

From the very start, there were moments worth capturing everywhere, from the anticipation in the room to the quieter, emotional exchanges that often go unnoticed.

An Indoor Ceremony Full of Emotion

With the ceremony taking place indoors, the focus shifted entirely onto the connection between Paige and PJ (After the flower boys of course). These are the moments that matter most, and where experience really counts, knowing how to work with available light and still deliver images that feel as good as the moment itself.

Every glance, every reaction, every small detail, all documented naturally without interrupting the flow of the ceremony.

Gentle Light
Over the Mendips

This is why you never give up on the weather.

What started as a grey day opened up just enough to give us the perfect window for couple portraits. Stepping out into the Mendips, we caught soft, flattering light that added something extra to an already special day.

These are the moments couples often remember most, a few minutes away from everything, just the two of you, taking it all in.

Kind Words from Paige & PJ

“Mike did our engagement shoot, which after receiving those within a very short timeframe, we knew immediately that his style and how comfortable he made us feel was perfect for us.

His prices were fair but affordable, and we couldn’t be more grateful for how hard he has worked. Instantly we knew we made the right choice to have him photograph our wedding.

Leading up to the wedding, he was accommodating and answered any questions we had. He helped structure our day and made sure the day flowed beautifully.

Mike arrived early in the morning to run over things again, which helped put my mind at ease, and capture those important moments.

Throughout the day, he was snapping away and caught some incredible moments. Our portraits are absolutely breathtaking, and his ability to manipulate the lighting made the moments look as special as they felt.

Truly, we couldn’t be happier with our gallery, and we couldn’t recommend Mike enough.”

Evening Energy and Real Moments

The evening was full of energy, with music from DJ Oxide keeping the dance floor moving from the first dance onwards.

There was a small technical hiccup on my end when one of my flashes stopped triggering during the dance floor, but this is exactly why I always carry backup equipment. Within seconds, everything was back up and running, and not a single moment was missed.

It’s one of those things couples rarely see, but it’s a big part of what you’re investing in when you choose an experienced photographer, preparation, redundancy, and the ability to handle problems without affecting your day.

Working Alongside The Social Bell

It was great to work alongside content creator The Social Bell on the day. Having both photography and content creation working together gives couples the best of both worlds, instant moments for sharing, alongside a full, carefully edited gallery to relive everything properly.
